Apparently there are only half as many jobs in the city being advertised in June as the same time last year. The majority are replacements rather than newly created positions indicating a lack of confidence on the part of employers.
In a “soft” job market such as this there will always be keen competition to win those few places that there are and it is therefore imperative that you portray yourself effectively in order to stand out from the crowd.
Do not get someone else to write your CV for you, they are obviously of a standardised nature and as a recruiter I can spot them instantly. Seek to be different, show the employer that you have the skills he is looking for and more besides.
There is no “perfect CV”, it will have done its job if it gets you an interview, the rest is up to you.
